China has licensed seven establishments in Santa Catarina (SC) to export pork kids. The qualification is the result of negotiations held during President Jair Bolsonaro's trip to the Asian country at the end of October. Tereza Cristina, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, was in Beijing from 18 to 25 last month also in talks with the Chinese government.
The Brazilian refrigeration plants were qualified to market six types of pork kids: feet, tongue, snout, mask, ear and tail.
"Exports may already begin immediately. This measure will move the economy of Santa Catarina and generate more income for rural producers," said the minister when she announced the news on Twitter on Monday morning (4).
According to a preliminary estimate by the Secretariat of Trade and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, the opening of the market for these products may move next year US$ 2 billion.
